- Plan and prepare with your children.
- Check out the school menu on the weekend, then decide which days
they want to take a sack lunch.
- Pack the night before to prevent a morning panic routine.
- Let them choose from healthy options.
- Assign simple tasks to kids: washing fruit or sealing the zippered
bags.
Bargain
- Balance high-fat, traditional favorites with more nutrition-rich
foods.
- Pack only a small portion of the "treat."
- Try a mini-size candy bar instead of a full-size one.
- Pack only one treat per day (please, no cookies and potato
chips.
Cater
- Make lunch inviting to your child.
- Include a "love" note.
- Let your child decorate his lunch sack.
