Floral Décor for the Holidays By

Fresh Lemons in a Vase Here's an easy, elegant centerpiece idea. Start with a clear vase. Fill it three-quarters of the way up with fresh, whole lemons. Then slowly pour in water prepared with floral preservative (the floral packet that came with your JustCut flower bouquet). The key is to pour very slowly to keep the lemons from floating. Then cut the rose stems and carefully place them in the vase. Tip: Apples or cranberries also work nicely in this arrangement (or any fruit that won't degrade quickly in water). Apples
and RosesThis low centerpiece is perfect for the dining table. Guests won't have to peer through the flowers to converse. You'll need a bunch of roses, small apples, floral foam (such as OasisT), wooden skewers and a nice bowl to use as a vase. Start by buying tight roses a day or two ahead of the party and let them stand in room-temperature water. This will ensure that they're almost fully open for the party. To arrange, place moistened floral foam inside the bowl. Then stick the small apples individually onto the wooden skewers. Cut the apple "sticks" and rose stems to the desired length. Then insert them into the floral foam, creating a random effect. Tip: If a single arrangement looks lonely, make two and place them symmetrically at each side of the center of the table. Or make three to five smaller ones and place them along the length of the table. Visit Deck the Table for more great holiday décor ideas. |
