The Folonari family began making wine in Tuscany in the 1700s. Today, Ambrogio Folonari and his son Giovanni are counted among Tuscany?s top winemakers, presiding over estates in each of Tuscany?s primary areas of production. On land that has supported winegrapes for seven centuries, Tenuta di Nozzole produces wines that respect both tradition and innovation: Chianti Classicos ranging from traditional to fruit-forward, and an IGT Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. Located north of the village of Greve at Passo dei Pecorai, the Nozzole estate is located in an impressively rugged mountainous area of melancholy beauty and covers roughly 1,000 acres, of which approximately a third are planted in vines and olive groves.
