2010 Pinot Grigio

Pinot Grigio-Italy-Friuli-Venezia Giulia

A French vine grown on hills, on medium marly soil, Pinot Grigio produces small bunches with round fruits grayish and red in color. The manual harvest and the soft pressing are followed by a brief period of aeration with no presence of sulfur dioxide. The wine remains on its lees for 8 months, and typically offers intense, warm and fragrant sensations of exotic fruits and acacia flowers. The first Schiopetto bottling of Pinot Grigo was in 1968. Entirely in contrast to the bulk production of this grape in Italy and around the world, Schipetto typically produces fewer than 2,500 cases of this wine every year. It is an ideal wine for fish entrees, as well as shellfish and many risotto dishes. Italy.

Good, full straw-yellow. Reticent but pure aromas of apricot, pear, marzipan and flowers. Plump on the palate, but with a firm core of acidity and strong herbal character giving verve to the apricot and ripe citrus flavors. Finishes with good length and recurring pear and herbal notes.
