H-E-B has received numerous awards and recognitions since 1997 for our support and work to make our communities greener. We're honored to receive recognition for some of our environmental initiatives. Here's a list of our most recent accomplishments.

2011

• Produce Business Magazine-3rd annual Retail Sustainability Award

This award recognizes H-E-B for exceptional leadership in development of sustainable strategies.

2010

• Inaugural Refreshing Ideas Award-SAWS

This award recognizes the H-E-B Snack Plant for implementing a water treatment facility to help improve its wastewater quality.

• 1st Place-Business Category-Keep Texas Beautiful
  This award recognizes businesses with sound environmental principles that support the Keep Texas Beautiful mission of educating and engaging Texans to take responsibility for improving their community environment.
• "Going Green" Leadership Award-Private Sector-San Antonio Business Journal
  H-E-B was recognized by the San Antonio Business Journal for our initiatives to conserve natural resources, being energy efficient, and building green stores
• Mayor's Outstanding Proud Partner of the Year-Keep Houston Beautiful
  H-E-B, along with H-E-B Houston Division President Scott McClelland, was honored for its environmental sustainability efforts and support of hundreds of non-profit organizations through H-E-B's Community Investment Program.
• LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certifications by the U.S. Green Building Council
• H-E-B Alon Market at Alon Towne Centre
• H-E-B Bunker Hill

• Green Grocer Award by Progressive Grocer magazine
  This award recognizes dedicated industry leaders that take on green initiatives in building, energy conservation and business practices.

2008:

• Mayors Proud Partner Award-Keep Houston Beautiful
  Recognized for our community recycling program
• Green Grocer Award from Progressive Grocer magazine
  This award recognizes dedicated industry leaders that take on green initiatives in building, energy conservation and business practices.

2007:

• "Go and Grow" Partnerships
  An US EPA initiative to promote the use of biofuels
• Texas Environmental Excellence Awards
  This award honors the state's most outstanding waste reduction and pollution prevention projects. Presented by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. H-E-B also received this award in 2005 and 1998

2006:

• Four star rating by Austin Energy Green Building Program
  Presented to Austin's store at Slaughter Land and Escarpment Blvd
• Excellence Award from the EPA's SmartWay ^SM Transport Partnership
  Our trucking fleet was named as one of the top fleets in the United States for removing harmful air emissions
