Why do I have to fill out my application online?
H-E-B is proud to be a philanthropic leader in the market areas we serve. We receive more than 10,000 charitable donation requests annually, and that number continues to grow each year. H-E-B's new online charitable donation portal will create efficiencies in our charitable donation process so we can serve you better.
What are the timeline requirements to submit an application?
Charitable donation requests must be received a minimum of 8 weeks prior to an event, program or activity in order for us to ensure the organization receives funding and sponsorship fulfillment in a timely manner.
If my non-profit status is pending, do I qualify to receive a donation?
No. H-E-B does not fund organizations with a pending 501 (c) status. We are only able to fund organizations that are verified with a tax exempt designation as determined by the Internal Revenue Service.
Do I have to complete the online application during one online session?
No. After creating a user ID and password, you will be able to save your application and finish it at a later date.
Can I mail or e-mail my application?
H-E-B is accepting applications via our online charitable donation portal. If you have mailed or e-mailed your application for funds, you will be contacted to redirect your application to our online portal.
When will I be contacted about the status of my application?
After you submit your application, you will receive an e-mail confirmation. After H-E-B reviews your application within 8 weeks, you will receive a notification indicating whether your request for funding has been approved or declined. Communication will occur via e-mail or a phone call.

Can I get a copy of the online application?
Yes. You will be able to log back into the website and view your application. If you would like to preview the questions ahead of time, simply log in and click "preview template".
If I create an account, will I be able to view the status of my application?
Yes. You will be able to log into the website and view the status of your application at any time.
I went to the store and they directed me to your online application process. Why?
When a request for a charitable donation is greater than an H-E-B store can provide, the request is re-routed to the regional office where applications are only accepted online. This helps ensure that H-E-B uses our resources in the most efficient manner to serve you better and that we have all the necessary information to make an informed decision.
I have received funding in the past from H-E-B. Do I have to reapply?
Yes. H-E-B reviews charitable donation requests annually. In order for us to consider funding your event or program, you must submit your online application 8 weeks before the date of the event. All agencies must reapply annually by filling out the online application form with all requested information.
Who receives and reviews my request?
After you submit your online application, it will be sent to the Public Affairs office in the appropriate region. Each region will review the request and work with you if the request is approved.
In the past, my organization has requested funds from an H-E-B store. Can I still go directly to the store for a donation?
H-E-B stores make individual small donations in the immediate neighborhoods they serve. When a request for funding is greater than the store can provide, they will recommend that you apply online at heb.com/community.
