1 package dry yeast or (1 yeast cake)
1 cup lukewarm water
1/3 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoon sugar
3 tablespoon shortening
2 cups flour
1 tablespoon margarine, melted
1/4 cup hot water
3 cups powdered sugar, sifted
1 teaspoon vanilla
Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water.
Add salt, sugar and shortening.
Add flour and mix well.
Place dough in large oiled bowl, turn dough over to oil top of dough.
Let dough rise in warm place until double in volume, about 30 minutes.
Turn dough out onto floured surface and knead a little, trying to get as little extra flour as possible in dough.
Roll out to 1/2 inch thickness.
Cut with donut cutter on heavily floured surface so they won_x0012_t stick to surface.
Let donuts rise on surface 20 minutes.
Combine margarine, hot water, powdered sugar and vanilla, mix well to make glaze.
Fry donuts in hot oil, turning once, about 3 minutes.
Dip in Glaze
