Basil Garlic Pesto Crostini

1  loaf  Cobblestone mill sliced french bread

3 to 4  H-E-B Ready, Fresh Go! Garlic cloves

1/4  cup  Sliced blanched almonds

1/2  cup  H-E-B extra virgin olive oil

1  cup  Fresh basil leaves stems removed

1  cup  H-E-B italian shredded parmesan cheese

1  pkg. (8 oz.)  H-E-B Cream Cheese


1 Heat oven to 450F. Spray a large baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray and arrange the slices of bread on the baking sheet.

Combine the garlic cloves and almonds in a foodprocessor or blender. Process the almond mixturefor 10 seconds until ingredients are finely chopped. Add the olive oil and basil to the almond mixture and process or blend for 10 seconds more. Add the Parmesan cheese and process 5 more seconds. Season the pesto to taste with salt & pepper. Set mixture aside.

Toast the bread in the hot oven for 5 minutes on each side. Spread 2 teaspoons cream cheese on each bread slice and top with 2 teaspoons basil pesto
