Roma tomatoes, cut into quarters
2 (3 oz.)
cans
tomato paste
1/3
cup
red wine such as cabernet sauvignon

teaspoons
olive oil

cloves
fresh garlic, crushed

tablespoons
fresh chopped basil or 1 tablespoon dried
1
teaspoon
fresh chopped oregano or 1/2 teaspoon dried
1
cup
chicken broth
1
teaspoon
salt
![]() Instructions ![]() Puree Roma tomatoes, tomato paste and wine in a food processor or blender until smooth.
![]() Heat olive oil in a 2 quart sauce pan over Medium heat.
![]() Sauté garlic, basil and oregano for 1 minute.
![]() Add pureed tomato mixture, chicken broth and salt to sauce pan.
![]() Bring to a boil.
![]() Reduce heat to Low and simmer for 10 to 20 minutes
