3 1/2 dozen
3/4 cup Crisco
1/3 cup granulated sugar
3 tablespoon water
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 3/4 cup sifted flour
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped toasted pecans
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate pieces

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
In mixing bowl, cream Crisco and 1/3 cup sugar till light and fluffy.
Beat in 3 tablespoons water and vanilla.
Blend in the flour and salt.
Stir in nuts and chocolate.
Shape mixture into 1-nch balls, using 2 teaspoons of dough for each.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes.
Cool on rack.
While still warm, but not hot, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
