Holiday Red Nose Chili

2  Tbsp.  Hill Country Fare Canola Oil

2  lb.  ground turkey breast

1  large sweet yellow onion, peeled & chopped

1  each:  fresh poblano pepper & jalapeño pepper, seeded & chopped

1/4  c.  Hill Country Fare Chili Powder

2  cans (14.5 oz.)  H-E-B Peeled Whole Tomatoes No Added Salt

2  cans (14.5 oz.)  Hill Country Fare Pinto or Black, rinsed & drained


Heat a large 12 quart soup pot over high heat for 2 minutes. Add the canola oil and the ground turkey breast. Stir-fry the meat 4 minutes until it begins to brown. Add the chopped onions and stir-fry for 3 minutes. Add the chopped peppers and the chili powder and stir-fry for 1 minute.

Stir in the tomatoes with their juice and the cut the tomatoes in half with your stirring spoon. Add 2 cups water and the drained and rinsed beans (to remove excess sodium) and bring the chile to a boil, reduce heat to low. Tip: At this point you can put the ingredients in a crock pot if you want to cook the chili while you are at work or shopping. Or, cook the chili on low heat with a cover until chili is thick. Season the chili to taste with salt and fresh cracked black pepper.
