1/2 cup Walnut halves
1/4 cup H-E-B Granulated Sugar
2 Granny smith or fuji apples, peeled cored and thin sliced
1 Juice of one lemon
1 bag (5 oz.) Fresh express spring mix greens
1/2 cup Shredded H-E-B monterey jack cheese
1/2 cup H-E-B Texas Twists® balsamic blue cheese salad dressing
Heat a skillet over high heat for 2 minutes. Add sugar and walnuts to hot skillet, reduce heat to medium high and stir constantly until sugar melts and glazes walnuts to a golden brown(about 2 minutes). Place glazed walnuts on a sheet of foil to cool.
Toss sliced apples in lemon juice and drain. Place the salad greens in a large salad bowl and layer the sliced apples, shredded cheese and glazed walnuts over salad greens. Cover salad with plastic wrap and chill for 15 minutes or more. Toss salad before serving and add H-E-BTexas Twists®; Balsamic Blue Salad Dressing.
