Fresh Strawberry Empanadas

1  pkg.  Hill Country Fare Crescent Rolls (8 pieces)

1/4  c.  cream cheese

1/2  c.  fresh strawberries, diced

2  Tbsp.  agave nectar, divided use

1  Tbsp.  coarse sugar


Preheat oven to 350°F.

Mix together cream cheese, strawberries and 1 tablespoon agave nectar.

Unroll dough and place about 1 teaspoon of strawberry mixture onto each one.

Fold over dough and crimp edges with a fork. Place onto foil-wrapped baking sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.

While cooling, brush with agave nectar and sprinkle with sugar.

Tip: You can also try with frozen strawberries. Place frozen strawberries in colander over a bowl. Place bowl in fridge overnight to defrost and strain.
