1  package  H-E-B Beef Crumbles OR

1  lb  ground beef

1  lb  turkey

1  large  onion

3 (14 1/2 oz.)  cans  beef broth

1  cup  H-E-B Long or Medium Grain Rice, raw

2 (16 oz)  cans  kidney beans, drained

2 (16 oz)  cans  pinto beans, drained

1 (1 1/4 oz.)  can  whole kernel corn, drained

1 (10 oz.)  can  diced tomatoes and green chiles

1  cup  picante sauce

1  tablespoon  chili powder

1  teaspoon  salt

1/2  teaspoon  cumin

1/2  teaspoon  oregano

1  teaspoon  hot pepper sauce (optional)

1/2  cup  grated cheddar cheese


Heat beef crumbles according to package directions or brown ground beef or turkey in large skillet.

Add onion and cook until meat loses its pink color.

Drain off excess fat.

Add beef broth, rice, beans, corn, tomatoes with chiles, picante sauce, chili powder, salt, cumin, oregano and hot pepper sauce.

Stir well.

Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer 15 minutes.

Add more broth or liquid until the soup reaches the desired consistency
