Chili Macaroni Skillet

1  lb.  bulk pork sausage

1  can (16 oz.)  can whole tomatoes, undrained

1  pkg.  Betty Crocker Hamburger Helper Chili Macaroni

1  can (15-16 oz.)  pinto or kidney beans, rinsed and drained

3 ½  c.  hot water

1  tsp.  chili powder

1  can (8.5 oz.)  whole kernel corn

*  chili powder (optional)


Cook sausage in 12-inch skillet over medium heat, stirring with heatproof spatula or spoon to break sausage into small pieces. Cook until sausage is no longer pink; drain sausage in colander. Return sausage to skillet.

Cut up tomatoes in can using a kitchen scissors. Stir tomatoes, uncooked Pasta, Sauce Mix, beans, hot water, chili powder and corn into sausage. Heat to boiling, stirring frequently; reduce heat.

Cover and simmer 15 minutes, stirring frequently; remove from heat. Uncover and let stand about 5 minutes or until sauce is as thick as you'd like (sauce will thicken as it stands). Sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese and chili powder if desired.
