1 large red bell pepper
2 pounds fresh broccoli, trimmed and cut in stalks (or 3 10-ounce packages frozen broccoli)
2 tablespoons salad oil
2 tablespoons vinegar
2 tablespoons lite soy sauce
8 teaspoon sugar
2 tablespoons sesame seeds (optional)
* salt, to taste
* pepper, to taste
Core and clean red pepper. Cut it in large pieces, so that you have a flat surface. Use small cookie cutters to cut decorative shapes to garnish the broccoli.
Steam broccoli and red pepper pieces over a small amount of boiling, salted water until tender, approximately 15 minutes; drain.
In saucepan, combine remaining ingredients (except salt and pepper). Heat to boiling. Pour over broccoli; toss to coat. Salt and pepper to taste.
