Ingredients

1  pound  ground beef or chili meat

1  medium  yellow onion, chopped

4  large cloves  garlic, peeled and finely chopped

2 1/2  tablespoons  chili powder

1  teaspoon  salt

1  teaspoon  black pepper

1  teaspoon  cumin

1/4 to 1/2  teaspoon  cayenne pepper, to taste

1  (15-ounce) can  pinto beans, rinsed and drained

1  (14.5 ounce) can  beef broth

1  (14.5) ounce can  crushed tomatoes

Instructions


Brown beef with onion and garlic in a 5-quart Dutch oven or large skillet over medium-high heat 5 to 6 minutes.

Add seasonings and stir to combine.

Heat 1 minute.

Stir beans, broth and tomatoes into beef.

Bring to a boil, reduce heat to medium and simmer 15 minutes, uncovered.

Garnish with onion and shredded cheese
