double-acting baking powder

![]() Instructions ![]() In a large electric mixing bowl, cream sugar with the butter until light and fluffy.
![]() Beat in vanilla, eggs, flour, baking powder, and salt.
![]() Divide dough into 3 balls.
![]() Place in sealable plastic bags and chill 3 to 4 hours before rolling.
![]() Preheat oven to 375 degrees and grease two cookie sheets.
![]() Using a rolling pin, roll the dough out into 1/4 inch thickness and cut desired shapes with cookie cutters.
![]() Use a metal spatula to transfer cookies to prepared baking sheets.
![]() Top with colored sugar if desired.
![]() Bake approximately 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
![]() Remove from cookie sheet and cool. Decorate with icing, coconut, candies, or whatever you like.
