1/2cupbrown sugar, firmly packed,
1Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
2Grease two cookie sheets, set aside.
3Cream the butter and the brown sugar well.
4Beat in egg until well blended.
5Beat in vanilla, flour, spices, and salt.
6(Batter will be thin.
7Pour batter onto prepared cookie sheets, forming 3 inch rounds.
8Cookies will spread, so place only 3 or 4 cookies to a sheet.
9Bake 8 or 9 minutes or until lightly browned.
10Remove immediately from cookie sheet, one cookie at a time, and roll each cookie around the handle of a wooden spoon. Transfer to rack to cool.
