Chocolate Pecan Pie

1Hill Country Fare refrigerated pie crust,

1cupFirmly packed dark brown sugar,

2/3cupHill Country Fare light corn syrup,

4largeH-E-B eggs,

1 1/2tspHill Country Fare vanilla extract,


2Tbsp.H-E-B butter or margarine,

1/2cupHill Country Fare semi-sweet chocolate morsels,

1 1/2cupsChopped hill country fare pecan pieces,

1aerosol can (7 oz.)Hill Country Fare whipped cream,


1Heat oven to 350F. Place the pie crust into a 9-inchpie pan according to package directions and set aside. Line the crust with aluminum foil and fill with pie weights or dried beans. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Remove weights and foil. Cool the crust.

2Combine the brown sugar, light corn syrup, eggs, vanilla and salt in a large mixing bowl and mix with an electric mixer on medium speed for 1 minute or until blended. Set this egg mixture aside.

3Combine the butter and semi-sweet chocolate morsels in a large microwave safe bowl. Microwave the mixture on High power for 1 minute and 30 seconds, stirring every 30 seconds.

4Stir the egg mixture and pecans into the chocolate mixture. Pour the pecan pie filling into the baked pie crust. Place the pie on a baking sheet and bake for 50 to 55 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Cut pie into 8 slices and serve with whipped cream if desired
