1/4cupyeast (about 4 envelopes),
1egg, slightly beaten,
1Dissolve yeast in a little cold milk in a large bowl. Add rest of milk, salt and egg. Add flour and mix to a light dough.
2Place on a cookie sheet and roll into oblong shape.
3Cut butter (which must be cold but not refrigerator cold) into slices and put these on one half of the dough. Fold the other half over and seal the edges. Roll again into a triangle. Fold three times, seal and roll into a triangle, repeat twice.
4Let stand in a cool place for one hour.
5Preheat oven to 475°F.
6Divide dough in half. Roll into two circles and divide each into 6 pie shaped pieces. Beginning at round edge, roll up.
7Place on cookie sheet and let rise in a cool place for one hour.
8Brush with egg. Bake about 7 to 8 minutes.
