Fried Cheese Appetizers

1/2pkg. (16 oz.)H-E-B low moisture part skim mozzarella or H-E-B oaxaca cheese,

1cupH-E-B baker’s scoop seasoned flour,

1/3cupHill Country Fare white cornmeal,

1cupH-E-B Buttermilk,

1quartMazola corn oil,

1/4cupH-E-B Texas Twists® dressing any flavor,


1Cut the cheese into 1/4-inch thick sliceslengthwise. Then cut each slice in halflengthwise to make long cheese strips andset aside. Combine flour and cornmeal in abowl and set aside. Pour buttermilk into a bowland set aside.

2Heat oil in an electric fryer to 37 deg c

3Dip the cheese into the buttermilk and then intothe flour mixture. Shake off excess flourand drop into the hot oil. Fry 5 to 6cheese pieces at a time for 1 minute oruntil golden. Drain the fried cheese onpaper towels. Arrange the fried cheeseappetizers on a tray with the H-E-B TexasTwists®; Dressing in a small dip bowl and serve
