1c.Central Market Quick Cook Grains, Barley, Lentils & Split Peas,

1large green bell pepper, chopped,

1/4c.chopped onion,

1clove garlic, minced,

2 tsp.chili powder,

1medium yellow summer squash, chopped,

1c.tomatoes, chopped,

1lemon, sliced in 4 pieces,

1 tsp.salt,


1In a large saucepan, combine entire package of grains, bell pepper, onion, garlic, chili powder, squash, and 5 cups water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes, or until vegetables are tender. Ladle soup into bowls, garnish with tomatoes and a lemon slice. Salt and pepper to taste.
