Ingredients

3/4cupyellow cornmeal,

1/4cupflour,

2teaspoonsalt,

1teaspooncayenne pepper,

1/4teaspoongarlic powder,

4catfish fillets or whole catfish vegetable oil,

Directions

1Combine cornmeal, flour, salt, cayenne pepper and garlic powder.

2Coat catfish with mixture, shaking off excess.

3Fill deep pot or 12-inch skillet half full with vegetable oil.

4Add catfish in a single layer and fry until gold brown, about 5-6 minutes, depending on size.

5Remove and drain on paper towels
