3poundsboneless beef shoulder roast,
1package (1.25 oz.)dry onion soup mix,
1teaspooncoarse ground black pepper,
1Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
2Select a covered pan sized to fit the roast. Too large a pan causes over-cooking.
3Sprinkle soup mix and pepper over roast. Pour water around roast.
