1/2cupcold butter or margarine (1 stick),
1/4cupchopped dried apricots,
1egg, beaten for glaze,
1Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
2Lightly butter a baking sheet.
3Combine dry ingredients in a bowl.
4Cut butter into small pieces and rub it into the dry ingredients to form a soft crumble.
5Stir in fruit.
6Add milk, stirring until a very soft dough is formed.
7Dump onto a floured and knead once or twice to share a loose ball.
8Pat the ball out onto the baking sheet to make an 8-inch circle.
9Using a floured knife, cut the circle into eight wedges and wiggle the knife to separate the edges and allow air to circulate between them.
10Brush tops with a little egg.
11Bake 18 to 20 minutes until golden and cooked through like a biscuit
