1pouchBetty Crocker sugar cookie mix,
1stick (1/2 cup)H-E-B Butter melted,
1H-E-B large egg,
¼cupGold medal all purpose flour,
1container each:Betty Crocker decorating sugars: yellow pink & purple,
1pkg. each:Hill Country Fare red string licorice, chocolate chips & candy corn,
1Heat oven to 375 degrees F. Combine the cookie mix, melted butter, egg and flour in a large mixing bowl until a soft dough forms.
2For 12 Chick Cookies: Shape the dough into twelve (1-inch) balls for the bodies and twelve (1/2-inch) balls for the heads. Slightly flatten the balls and roll in the yellow sugar. On an ungreased cookie sheet, arrange the small balls to touch the large balls (so it looks like chicks). In the bottom of each large ball, place licorice pieces for legs. On each small ball, place 1 chocolate chip for the eye. Bake 5 minutes and place a candy corn on the head of each for beak. Bake for 4 more minutes or untill golden. Cool 1 minute; remove to wire rack. Cool completely, about 30 minutes.
3For 12 Bunny Cookies: Reserve 1/4 cup dough.Shape remaining dough into twelve (1-inch) balls for heads. Roll balls in pink or purple sugar. On an un-greased cookie sheet, for each bunny, place 1 ball and flatten slightly. With the reserved dough, shape bunny ears and cheeks and roll in sugar as desired; arrange on each cookie. Place 2 chocolate chips on each face for eyes and 1 chocolate chip for nose. Cut small whiskers out of red licorice candy and place in cheeks for whiskers. Bake 7 to 9 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool 1 minute; remove to wire rack. Cool completely, about 30 minutes.
