3whole eggs, beaten,
1cupheavy cream or evaporated milk,
1/2cupbutter or margarine, melted and divided,
1 1/2cupsugar, divided use,
6Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and thin sliced (about 6 cups),
1teaspoonapple pie spice,
1Heat oven to 400 degrees F.
2Spray a large 10–inch deep pie pan with non-stick cooking spray; set aside.
3Combine eggs, cream, flour, 1/4 cup melted butter and 3/4 cup sugar in a bowl and blend on high speed with electric mixer or blender; set mixture aside.
4Set empty prepared pie pan in oven to heat.
5Heat a large skillet over medium heat for 3 minutes.
6Add remaining 1/4 cup butter,3/4 cup sugar, apples and apple pie spice.
7Stir and cook for 5 minutes until apples are glazed.
8Remove heated pie pan from oven and pour half of batter in pie pan.
9Arrange warm apple slices over batter (reserve apple syrup) and then pour remaining batter over apples.
10Bake on middle rack in oven for 25 minutes.
11Remove from oven and drizzle pie with reserve apple syrup.
