Holiday Brie With Fruit & Nuts

18 ounce roundBrie cheese,

1tablespoonbrown sugar,


1/2cupfinely chopped pear,

1/4cupfinely chopped walnuts or pecans,

1/4cupdried cherries or cranberries,

1tablespoonbutter, melted,


1Heat oven to 350 degrees.

2Blend brown sugar with cinnamon in a small bowl. Add pear, nuts and cherries or cranberries; stir gently to mix. Drizzle with butter and stir until just moistened.

3Split brie in half horizontally and remove top. Place bottom half in a small baking pan, cut-side up; spread evenly with half of pear mixture. Lay top half of brie over bottom half, rind-side up. Spoon remaining pear mixture over top.

4Bake 9 to 12 minutes or until cheese is soft and just begins to melt; remove from oven and let stand 10 minutes.

5Serve warm brie on a plate with apple and pear wedges and assorted crackers
