1poundsharp cheddar cheese, grated,
1/4poundbutter or margarine,
1Mix cheese and butter until soft.
2Add egg and water; beat well.
3Sift flour, salt, cayenne and paprika together.
4Add to cheese mixture in three additions, beating well after each addition.
5Shape dough into rolls and wrap in plastic film or foil; refrigerate 30 to 60 minutes.
6Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
7Fill cookie press, fitted with sawtooth disk, or roll out dough into a thin sheet cutting strips in three to six pieces.
8Place on ungreased baking sheet.
9Bake 18 to 20 minutes or until just starting to brown lightly
