Grilled Steak and Veggie Bites

1 (2 lb.) flat iron or sirloin steak

2 Tbs. H-E-B Texas Originals™ Steak Seasoning

1 sweet yellow onion, peeled and cut into 8 wedges

1 red bell pepper, stem and seeds removed and cut into thin strips

1 med. zucchini, cut into ½-inch slices

2 portobello mushrooms, cut into ½-inch strips

25 small frilled toothpicks


Heat gas or charcoal grill to 375°F. Spray a vegetable or mesh grill rack with nonstic
k spray and set aside on a baking sheet.
Season steak with 1 teaspoon steak seasoning and set aside.
Spray vegetables with olive oil nonstick spray, place in a zipper bag, and season with rem
aining tablespoon of steak seasoning.
Grill steak directly on grill rack for 8 minutes per side. After turning the steak over, b
egin grilling vegetables on the prepared grill or mesh rack. Vegetables should be turned a
fter 4 minutes and grilled 4 more minutes or to desired degree of tenderness.
All steak to rest 2 to 3 minutes before cutting it into bite-size pieces. Combine sliced s
teak and grilled veggies on a large plattter and serve. Place frilled toothpicks in a smal
l glass beside the platter.
