Apple Pie Bites

Ingredients

1 package H-E-B pie dough

4 Tbsp. butter

6 Granny Smith apples

1/2 c. brown sugar

1/2 tsp. lemon zest

2 Tbsp. cornstarch

1 tsp. nutmeg

8 salted caramel candies, chopped

Directions


Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a muffin tin with nonstick cooking spray.
Roll out the pie dough, cut 12 pieces with a large round cookie cutter, and place pieces i
n the muffin tins.
In a large sauté pan, combine butter, apples, sugar, lemon zest, cornstarch, and nu
tmeg. Cook until apples soften and liquid thickens.
Spoon the filling into individual muffin tins and top with chopped caramels.
Bake for 30 minutes. Allow mini-pies to cool completely before serving.
