Chocolate Lovers Pecan Pie
1 Hill Country Fare Frozen Deep Dish Pie Crust
1 c. Hill Country Fare Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips
2 Tbsp. milk
1 c. H-E-B Brown Sugar
3/4 c. Hill Country Fare Light Corn Syrup
3 large H-E-B Eggs
2 large H-E-B Egg Yolks
2 tsp. H-E-B Baker's Scoop Double Vanilla Extract
1 Tbsp. Hill Country Fare Cornstarch
1 Tbsp. H-E-B Butter, melted
1 1/4 c. Hill Country Fare Pecan Pieces
Heat oven to 325 degrees F. Bring pie crust to room temperature according to package direc
tions; set aside. Set out one 9-inch pie pan.
Combine the chocolate chips and milk in a heavy bottom sauce pot over Medium heat. Stir t
he chips until they are melted with the milk. Evenly spread the melted chocolate on the bo
ttom of the pie crust and set aside.
Combine brown sugar and syrup in a large mixing bowl and microwave on High power for 30 s
econds and stir till brown sugar is dissolved.
Combine the eggs, egg yolks, vanilla, and cornstarch in a mixing bowl and beat with an ele
ctric mixer on Medium speed for 1 minute. Add the melted butter and sugar mixture and mix
on medium speed for 30 seconds. Stir in the pecans and pour the filling into the deep dish
Bake the pie on lower third oven rack for 55-60 minutes or until a knife inserted in the c
enter comes out clean. Cool the pie completely before serving.
