2 tbsp. vegetable oil
2 pounds lean beef stew meat, cut into 3/4 inch cubes
1 package (.87 oz.) brown gravy mix
1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
1/4 cup flour
1 frozen bag (20 oz.) Hill Country Fare Stew Vegetables
Heat oil in a large cooking pot over medium-high heat. Add stew meat and brown, draining e
xcess liquid as needed. Add enough water to cover browned stewed meat.
In a small bowl, combine gravy mix, tomato sauce and 1 cup water; blend well. Add gravy mi
xture to browned stew meat and bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat to medium-low heat (slo
w bubbling) and cook for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Using the same small bowl, blend flour with 1/2 cup water until smooth. Add flour mixture
and stew vegetables to cooking pot; mix well. Season to taste and bring to a second boil.
Cover, reduce heat to a medium-low heat and cook 30 more minutes.
