Five Spice Crockpot Chicken
4-5 lb. H-E-B Naturals Whole Chicken
1 stalk celery, cut into 1 inch pieces
4 inch piece ginger root, minced
3 green onions
1 Tbsp. soy sauce
2 tsp. Central Market™ Organics Chinese Five Spice Powder
Place small rack in 4-5 quart crockpot. Rinse chicken and drain well, then pat dry with pa
Place celery, ginger root, and green onions inside chicken. In small bowl, combine soy sau
ce and five spice powder to make a paste.
Rub this mixture over the chicken. Place chicken on rack inside crockpot. Cover crockpot a
nd cook on low for 6-7 hours, until chicken is tender and juices run clear when pricked wi
th fork and internal temperature of the white meat registers 180°F. Discard vegetables
inside chicken; carve to serve.
