Asparagus Quiche

1 Hill Country Fare refrigerated pie crust

6 slices H-E-B Fully Cooked bacon, chopped

1 9 ounce box frozen Hill Country Fare asparagus spears, cut into 1-inch sections

4 eggs, beaten

1 1/2 cups H-E-B half and half, heavy cream or skim milk

1 cup shredded H-E-B jalapeno jack cheese


Heat oven to 400 degrees. Line a deep-dish pie pan with one Hill Country Fare refrigerated
pie crust. Sprinkle chopped bacon and cut frozen asparagus in pie crust and set aside.
Combine eggs, half and half or cream and 1/2 cup of shredded cheese in a bowl. Season mixt
ure with salt and fresh cracked black pepper. Carefully pour egg mixture over asparagus an
d bacon. Top the quiche with remaining shredded cheese.
Bake on center oven rack for 10 minutes at 400 degrees. Reduce oven temperature to 350 deg
rees and continue baking quiche for 35 more minutes or until a knife inserted in the cente
r comes out clean
