Chicken Breasts & Goat Cheese In Puff Pastry
4 each Chicken Breast halves, boneless and skinless (about 1 1/4 pounds)
1 package frozen puff pastry shells (6 shells/10 ounce), thawed
1 teaspoon Alessi Sea Salt
2 tablespoon Hill Country Fare Vegetable Oil
1 teaspoon Hill Country Fare Ground Black Pepper
1 (5.3 ounce) package Chavrie® Goat Cheese with Basil & Garlic
1 H-E-B Egg
Thaw pastry according to package directions. Spray a large baking sheet with nonstick spra
Heat oven to 450 degrees F. Season both sides of chicken with salt and pepper.
Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over Medium. Cook chicken 5 minutes per side. Remove
and set aside.
While chicken cooks, roll pastry shells into circles at least 7 inches in diameter. Beat e
gg and water together to make an egg wash.
Top each pastry circle with one chicken breast. Spread 1 heaping tablespoon goat cheese ov
er each breast. Brush pastry edges with egg wash. Close pastry shells over chicken to form
half circles and seal.
Cut decorative designs from remaining pastry with a knife or small pastry cutters. Brush d
esigns with egg wash and place on top of chicken packets.
Reduce oven temperature to 400 degrees F; place chicken in oven and bake 20 minutes or unt
il pastry is puffed and golden. Let stand 5 minutes and serve
