Grilled Sweet Potato Sticks
½ c. Hill Country Fare Natural Walnut Pieces
¼ c. H-E-B Brown Sugar
2 bags (16 oz. each) H-E-B Ready, Fresh, Go!™ Sweet Potato Sticks
¼ c. H-E-B Light Olive Oil
¼ c. Central Market™ All Natural Dessert Spice Rub
½ c. H-E-B Lemon or Blossom Honey
Combine walnut pieces and sugar in a heavy-bottom skillet over medium-high heat. Stir mixt
ure while cooking for 3 to 4 minutes, until sugar melts and glazes the walnuts. Immediatel
y spread glazed walnuts on a sheet of foil to cool. Chop walnuts into small chunks or desi
red texture and set aside.
Prepare sweet potato sticks in microwave according to package directions.
Carefully remove sweet potato sticks from bags and place on a foil-lined cookie sheet. Add
olive oil and toss sweet potato sticks gently. Sprinkle dessert rub on sweet potato stick
s and toss gently. Set aside.
Prepare charcoal or gas grill for cooking (375°F) and spray a grilling mesh with nonst
ick cooking spray. Place prepared sweet potato sticks on mesh and grill covered for 5 minu
tes. Place in serving dish, top with glazed walnuts, and drizzle with honey.
