Home Style Cornbread Dressing
2 Tbsp. Hill Country Fare Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 1/2 c. chopped celery
1 1/2 c. chopped sweet yellow onion
1/2 c. chopped red bell pepper
1 1/2 c. water
1 bag (16 oz.) H-E-B Cornbread Stuffing
1/4 c. Central Market Organics Ground Flax Seed
1 can (14 oz.) Hill Country Fare Chicken Broth
Heat the oven to 350°F. Spray a 9 x 13 inch baking dish with no s
tick spray and set aside.
Heat a large heavy bottom skillet over medium heat for 2 minutes. Add
the olive oil, chopped celery, chopped onion and chopped bell pepper
and stir fry until the onions are tender (about 5 minutes).
Combine the cooked vegetables with the corn bread stuffing mix, ground
flax seed, 1 can of chicken broth and 1 1/2 cups water in a large mix
ing bowl. Season the stuffing to taste with salt and pepper and spoon
into the prepared baking dish. Loosely cover with a sheet of sprayed
foil and bake on the center oven rack for 20 minutes. Remove the foi
l and bake 5 more minutes. You can prepare this recipe a day in advan
ce, cover and refrigerate until ready to bake.
