Ingredients

8 slices H-E-B 100% Whole Wheat Multi Grain Bread, toasted

1/2 tube (8 oz.) H-E-B Sage Sausage

2 Tbsp. Central Market Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil

1 c. H-E-B Ready Fresh Go! Chopped Onion

1 c. sliced Button Mushrooms

3 H-E-B Ready Fresh Go! Garlic Cloves, chopped

1 tsp. each Central Market Crushed Thyme & Ground Sage

1/2 c. H-E-B Ready Fresh Go! Chopped Celery & 3 Color Peppers

1/2 c. chopped freshly parsley

1 c. Central Market Organics Reduced Sodium Chicken Broth

Directions


Heat the oven to 375°F. Spray a large baking dish with non-stick
cooking spray and set aside. Toast the bread and cut into 1/2 to 1/4-
inch cubes. You can also process the cubes to coarse crumbs if you li
ke a finer dressing texture. Set the cubes or crumbs aside.
Heat a skillet over high heat for 2 minutes and cook the sausage until
well done (about 3 minutes). Crumble sausage, drain on paper towels
and set aside.
Clean the skillet and heat over high heat for 2 minutes. Add the oliv
e oil, onions and mushrooms; stir-fry for 3 minutes until onion is gol
den. Add the garlic, celery, peppers, thyme and sage and stir-fry the
mixture for 5 minutes to develop the flavors. Add the crumbled sausa
ge, cubed or crumbled bread, parsley and chicken broth to the vegetabl
e mixture. Season the dressing to taste with salt and fresh cracked p
epper.
Pour the dressing into the prepared baking dish, cover with a sheet of
sprayed foil and bake on the upper oven rack (over the turkey) for 15
minutes. Remove the foil and bake 5 more minutes.
