H-E-B World of Sandwiches: The How You Rue-Been
8 slices dark rye bread
1/2 cup reduced fat Thousand Island dressing
3/4 pound cooked thinly sliced H-E-B Premium Corned Beef
1 (28.5 ounce) can Gundelsheim Sauerkraut, drained
8 thin slices H-E-B Swiss Cheese
2 tablespoons butter
Drain half of sauerkraut well in a strainer or colander.
Assemble sandwiches by spreading 1 tablespoon dressing on each bread s
lice. Place equal amounts corned beef and sauerkraut onto 4 slices bre
ad. Cover each with 2 slices Swiss cheese. Top with remaining 4 bread
Heat a large nonstick skillet over Medium heat. Melt 1 tablespoon butt
er in skillet. Grill two sandwiches in skillet about 8 minutes, turnin
g as needed, until crusty and warm throughout. Remove sandwiches to a
plate and keep warm.
Add remaining 1 tablespoon butter to skillet and repeat process for tw
o remaining sandwiches.
