Five Spice Crockpot Chicken
4-5 lb. H-E-B Naturals Whole Chicken
1 stalk celery, cut into 1 inch pieces
4 inch piece ginger root, minced
3 green onions
1 Tbsp. soy sauce
2 tsp. Central Market™ Organics Chinese Five Spice Powder
Place small rack in 4-5 quart crockpot. Rinse chicken and drain well,
then pat dry with paper towels.
Place celery, ginger root, and green onions inside chicken. In small b
owl, combine soy sauce and five spice powder to make a paste.
Rub this mixture over the chicken. Place chicken on rack inside crockp
ot. Cover crockpot and cook on low for 6-7 hours, until chicken is ten
der and juices run clear when pricked with fork and internal temperatu
re of the white meat registers 180°F. Discard vegetables inside ch
icken; carve to serve.
