Chocolate Pecan Pie

1 Hill Country Fare refrigerated pie crust

1 cup Firmly packed dark brown sugar

2/3 cup Hill Country Fare light corn syrup

4 large H-E-B eggs

1 1/2 tsp Hill Country Fare vanilla extract

1/4 tsp salt

2 Tbsp. H-E-B butter or margarine

1/2 cup Hill Country Fare semi-sweet chocolate morsels

1 1/2 cups Chopped hill country fare pecan pieces

1 aerosol can (7 oz.) Hill Country Fare whipped cream


Heat oven to 350F. Place the pie crust into a 9-inchpie pan according
to package directions and set aside. Line the crust with aluminum foil
and fill with pie weights or dried beans. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. R
emove weights and foil. Cool the crust.
Combine the brown sugar, light corn syrup, eggs, vanilla and salt in a
large mixing bowl and mix with an electric mixer on medium speed for
1 minute or until blended. Set this egg mixture aside.
Combine the butter and semi-sweet chocolate morsels in a large microwa
ve safe bowl. Microwave the mixture on High power for 1 minute and 30
seconds, stirring every 30 seconds.
Stir the egg mixture and pecans into the chocolate mixture. Pour the p
ecan pie filling into the baked pie crust. Place the pie on a baking
sheet and bake for 50 to 55 minutes or until a knife inserted in the c
enter comes out clean. Cut pie into 8 slices and serve with whipped c
ream if desired
