What is the Healthy at H-E-B Slim Down Showdown Contest?

• The H-E-B Slim Down Showdown is a contest designed to highlight the value of making healthier lifestyle choices. Twenty five people from across Texas will be chosen to participate in the 12-week contest. During the contest, contestants will receive health coaching from physicians as well as nutrition and fitness professionals.
• Chosen participants will attend Fit Camp during January 13-18, 2012 in San Antonio, Texas. During Fit Camp, professionals from Cooper Corporate Solutions and H-E-B will offer education to the contestants on proper nutrition, physical activity and weight management. After Fit Camp, the contestants will return home to apply what they learned.
• Participants will receive periodic check-ins from nutrition and fitness professionals for the remaining weeks of the program to check on their progress.

Who is eligible to enter?

• The contest is open to legal residents of Texas who reside within 50 miles of an H-E-B store and who are at least 18 years of age at time of entry. Employees of HEB Grocery Company, LP, Cooper Corporate Solutions, Methodist Healthcare System of San Antonio, and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies and the immediate families (spouses, parents, children and siblings and their respective spouses) and those living in the same household (whether related or not) of such employees, are not eligible to participate. How do I enter?

• There is no purchase necessary to enter. Simply visit www.heb.com/slimdown between August 1 and October 21, 2012 to get started on the application process.
• Once on www.heb.com/slimdown, complete the Application Form as directed. To be considered a complete application, you must submit an Application Form, one (1) video that is no longer than three (3) minutes in length, and one (1) photograph of you in athletic clothing or other suitable attire.
• Mail the application form, video, and photograph to:

• Applications without a video and photograph included will be considered incomplete and will not be considered in the selection of participants.
• All applications must be postmarked by October 21, 2012 and received by October 29, 2012 to be considered in the selection of participants.

What type of photograph should I include?

• The application must include one fully-clothed, full-length printed photo of applicant with the applicant's name written on the back. The photograph must be 8" x 10" or smaller in size. Suitable clothing for the photo is athletic or other suitable attire.

What type of video should I include?

• Videos should be no longer than three (3) minutes in length, and must be in .mov, .mpg or .wmv formats. Videos can be sent on a DVD or USB flash drive.

How will the participants be determined?

• Participants will be selected by one or more panels of judges selected by H-E-B using such criteria as they may deem appropriate, including (without limitation) an assessment of the entrants' willingness and ability to effectively share the story of their participation in the contest and their subsequent lifestyle changes with others.

When will the participants be announced?

• All participants will be announced on or before January 9, 2013 on www.heb.com/slimdown and/or other associated media.

Will my entry be viewed by anyone other than the judges selecting the participants?

• No, all applications (including video and photo) will only be seen by the judging panel.

If I'm chosen to be a participant, what personal information will be posted on www.heb.com/slimdown or affiliated sites about me?

• If selected as a participant, we ask that participants be willing to share their journey and background information (this may include weight) through blogs and videos that will be posted on heb.com and affiliated websites. If you are not selected as a participant, any information included in the application (including video and photo) will not be shared with anyone outside the judging panel.

If I'm chosen to be a participant, what will I receive?

• The 25 selected participants will attend the Fit Camp in San Antonio, receive a prize pack including fitness-themed items, and a makeover. Prize details are included in the Official Rules.
• Participants will not be employed or paid by H-E-B, and will receive only the prizes set forth in the Official Rules.
  H-E-B is not able to assist participants in obtaining time off from work or other obligations, and cannot reimburse contestants for their expenses or lost wages.
