San Antonio: Fiesta 2011

San Antonio Fiesta is a party with a purpose. Each of the 100 plus events is produced by a nonprofit organization selected by the San Antonio Fiesta Commission and proceeds help the organization's yearly expenses.

NIOSA—Held by the San Antonio Conservation Society, this event features more than 240 elaborate food and drink booths and more than a dozen entertainment stages. Each booth represents the diverse cultures and customs of the city in 15 heritage-themed areas. NIOSA is held in the historic downtown village of La Villita.

Fiesta Oyster Bake—Head to the St. Mary's University Campus for the 95th anniversary of Oyster Bake. With plenty of food booths and entertainment for children and adults, there is something for everyone at Oyster Bake. All proceeds from the event help raise money for student scholarships and St. Mary's University alumni programs.

A Taste of the Northside—Help raise funds for the Brighton Center, a nonprofit organization that provides services to children with disabilities and their families. At A Taste of the Northside, you will sample some of San Antonio's finest foods and beverages at the relaxing Club at Sonterra. Experience more with an all inclusive ticket that provides 10 food tastings, 5 beverage tastings and parking and shuttle service.

A Taste of New Orleans—Bring the whole family to the Sunken Gardens for jazz, kid's games and a wide array of Louisiana favorites like gumbo, crayfish, etouffées, Cajun fried rice and more. This three day event helps raise funds for the San Antonio Zulu Association. SAZA is a not-for-profit organization that provides scholarships and community outreach throughout the city.

Fiesta Carnival—Thrills and chills fill the air at one of the best carnivals in Texas. Downtown San Antonio is transformed into an amusement park with rides, games and your favorite foods and live entertainment. Proceeds from the carnival support the activities of the Fiesta San Antonio Commission. Event take place at the Alamodome Parking Lot C.
