recipe categories / seafood / fish South Texas Tuna Melt Courtesy of H-E-B Ingredients: 2 (6 oz.) cans Bumble Bee Chunk Light Tuna with Touch of Lemon, drained 1/4 cup Hellmann´s Mayonnaise 1/4 cup H-E-B Fresher Lasting Salsa 1 H-E-B Fresher Lasting Jumbo Avocado Halves, cut into 8 slices 8 slices H-E-B Split Top Wheat Bread, toasted 4 slices H-E-B Colby, Jalapeño Jack, or Colby Jack Cheese Directions: 1. Combine tuna, mayonnaise, and salsa in a medium-size bowl; mix well. 2. Heat oven to broiler setting. Line a baking sheet with foil. Place 4 slices of toasted bread on sheet pan and spread 1/4 cup tuna mixture on each and top with 2 slices of avocado and one slice of cheese. 3. Broil tuna melts on middle oven rack for 2 to 4 minutes until cheese melts. Top with remaining toasted bread slices. Slice each tuna melt in half and serve. |
