recipe categories / meats / pork / specialty parts-pork Festive Fall Brats Courtesy of H-E-B Ingredients: 1 (20 oz) package fresh H-E-B Regular or Beer Brats 1 cup chopped onion 2 cups Hill Country Fare Southern Hash Browns 1 (32 oz) can Gundelsheim Barrel Sauerkraut, drained & rinsed 1 cup chopped Hill Country Fare Frozen Fuji Apple Slices 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley Directions: 1. Heat a large skillet over High heat for 3 minutes. Add the fresh brat sausages and cook on all sides until golden brown, about 5 minutes. Remove brats from skillet and place on paper towels to drain. 2. Retain 1 tablespoon sausage drippings from pan and add chopped onions. Stir-fry onions over Medium-High heat for 3 minutes or until golden brown. Add hash brown potatoes and apples to onions and continue cooking over medium heat for 3 more minutes. Add drained Bavarian sauerkraut to potato mixture and stir-fry for one minute. Arrange sausages over sauerkraut mixture and add 1 1/2 cup water. Cook sausages over medium heat for 10 more minutes. 3. Before serving, sprinkle chopped parsley over Festive Fall Brats. |
